Dan deBeaubien is a 35-year veteran of information technology. He formerly served as the CTO of Michigan Technological University. After joining the SANS Institute in 2014, he worked across a diverse range of security and training areas, from Security Awareness to SANS OnDemand—contributing to various product development and training initiatives.
During his tenure at SANS, Dan led artificial intelligence (AI) research and chaired both the AI policy and product working groups. These groups authored SANS AI-related policies and launched the AI Resource Center to prioritize and drive the implementation of AI-related projects. Under his leadership, SANS developed AI toolsets, training models, and a prototype for a large-scale cybersecurity AI system.
