Contact UsThe official Call for Presentations (CFP) for the 8th annual SANS Security Awareness Summit is now open!
Folks, we are super excited to announce the official Call for Presentations (CFP) for the 8th annual SANS Security Awareness Summit to be held 4/5 August, the largest gathering of Security Awareness professionals from around the world. A CFP is a formal process where we ask potential speakers (like you) to submit their proposed talks. These submissions are then reviewed and talks are selected by our volunteer Advisory Board. The reason we are so excited about this year’s summit is we have several new firsts.
The theme for this year’s event is Managing Human Risk. Traditionally most Security Awareness events have focused on concepts like interaction and gamification, how to successfully engage your workforce. These topics are fantastic and critical, but we are looking to go beyond that and mature our field. Far too often Security Awareness is perceived as being in the compliance or entertainment business. However, when we speak in terms of and focus on Managing Human Risk, we are far more likely to have an impact, far more aligned with leaders priorities, and far more likely to get their support.
Do you have a story to share or lessons learned that could help our community mature our field? If so, we want to hear from you! Learn more about how to submit a talk at our Security Awareness Summit CFP page. PLEASE be sure to actually read the CFP page. Take 30 seconds, read the guidance, and your talk will be far more likely to be accepted by our Advisory Board. All submissions are due by Friday, 14 May.
If you have never spoken, or perhaps never even attended the SANS Awareness Summit, this is a very supportive and friendly community. We are all about helping each other grow and succeed and would love to hear from you!
